Pre-School Story/Craft "Picnic"

Entering Music – "Teddy Bear’s Picnic" on Gary Rosen’s Album Teddy Bear's Picnic  and/or "Going on a Picnic" from  Raffi’s The Corner Grocery Store

We’re Going on a Picnic by Pat Hutchins (little critters eat all the fruit in the basket while the bigger animals are debating the best spot for the picnic)
Song/Flannel: Baby Bumblebee
Teddy Bear’s Picnic – Prue Theobalds (not sure this still holds that much interest)
The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear by Don & Audrey Wood
Song: "I like to eat, eat, eat...apples & bananas" (Raffi)
It’s the Bear by Jez Alborough – the bear is really there!
The Watermelon Seed by Greg Pizzoli (big hit)
DVD: Picnic by Emily Arnold McCully
Craft music – Teddy Bear’s Picnic 734 NEW (Brass Band) – sounds like a merry-go-round
Craft – red & white woven paper placemat (picnic blanket) – kids cut out food (some made 3D!), younger kids just glued white paper squares on red paper – easier than paper weaving

Other possibilities:
Peanut Butter & Jelly: A Play Rhyme by Nadine Bernard Westcott (skipped - used for baking earlier)
A Most Unusual Lunch – Robert Bender
This is the Bear & the Picnic Lunch – Sarah Hayes
Ready for Anything – Keiko Kasza
Claude has a Picnic --Gackenbach
