Join us for a reading of this new take on an old tale and then create a self-portrait suitable for hanging in the king’s castle! (Paint will be available so please dress accordingly)
Rumpelstiltskin's daughter may not be able to spin straw into gold, but she is more than a match for a monarch whose greed has blighted an entire kingdom.
After reading the story, we looked at the portraits of the king around his castle done in the style of famous paintings, e.g. Blue Boy & the Mona Lisa. Showed pictures of the originals then had kids create their own self-portraits in the style of famous painters. (Supplies: 12x18 cardboards, paper plate palattes, tempra paint, brushes, water cups, paper towels)
